I have had my Permobil 500 a little over one month and recently had three joystick errors. Requiring someone to turn the main breaker on and off, on the base of my wheelchair in order to reboot the system (left side near the shock). If I was alone, I would have been stuck in place.
Yesterday the durable Medical Equipment supplier came out to run diagnostics on the joystick controller. After speaking with Permobil it was determined that I needed a new joystick controller. It should be here in two weeks. I was very pleased with how quickly Chesapeake rehab came out to my house to solve the problem.
The technician also noticed my right tire was low and ordered a new replacement tire. The tires are solid and should not be low anytime, so this particular tire must be defective. Hopefully this all get's resolved quickly..... it's always something.

Sounds scary/frustrating -- to be stuck in place. :( It's nice that Chesapeake did respond quickly and the rep was proactive about the tire... It is always something, you know. I guess that's to remind us to appreciate that most of life's good (right?).
Glad to hear that everything is being resolved quickly and hope you won't get stuck before all is replaced.
It's good they got there fast to fix things for you. We all know how difficult DME's can be to deal with most of the time!
Hopefully with the new joystick and tire everything will work out for you.
