Dogs

As Nala gets older I have been thinking about getting another service dog. Although most of my animals have been labrador retrievers, I did have one Doberman pinscher. He was a really sweet dog, but kind of neurotic, especially during thunderstorms. Too bad Susquehanna Service dogs does not train dobermans.

I bet people would be more likely to move out of the way on the sidewalk with a Doberman. As it is now everyone wants to pet the cute labrador retriever attach to the cranky old guy in the wheelchair.. just saying.

What about German Shepherds? They are loyal, smart, easy to train, and can be intimating at times. I have 2 and they are by far the smartest animals I have ever owned.

Shepherds are great dogs too

I was going to suggest a Shepherd too. They are so faithful and very intelligent. Can you ask for a certain type of dog???

I recommend both! I have a German Shepherd and a Dobie. The G.S. is very smart, but the Dobie is loyal as the day is long and also ALMOST as smart. The dobie is a bit more placid as well. G.S. a little bit more rambunctious. Either one a GS or a Dobie would mean people getting out of the way for you!

Dobies are GREAT dogs! I have both a Dobie and a German Shepherd. I'd recommend both. However, I'd have to lean toward the Dobie actually. While the GS is VERY smart, the Dobie is loyal as the day is long and very sensitive and aware of me. And ALMOST as smart as my GS.
