The last few days I have been trying to find an accessible van to rent in Boston, but unfortunately every van is spoken for. It looks like a 12 hour drive is plan B to make it to Plymouth Bay...
The good news is, at least the airlines will not destroy the new wheelchair, and it's a lot cheaper! Accessible van rentals are over $1000 per week.

$1,000?? Holy cow batman! that's insane. Hopefully you will have nice weather for traveling. Hope you'll have someone going with you....ya know...just in case...
The price or accessible rental vans border on criminal. daily rentals are about $175. Hertz, Avis, National, and Enterprise rent car, no vans, with hand controls at no extra cost. Of course half the time I rent a car when I travel the car with hand controls is mysteriously missing. Travel is always humbling and reminds me how inaccessible the world is. Choices are severely limited and costly.
