Today is World AIDS Day 2009 with a few exceptions. Uganda and Iran are more than likely not participating.... You see the official party line from the Iranian government is there are no AIDS cases in Iran. Uganda wants to sentence individuals with aids to life in prison or execution (that should make getting tested a real incentive)....
Aids is a disease that affects all populations. Get tested, and take the necessary lifestyle precautions....

I can remember the first time I heard of AIDS. I was newly stationed in the Philippines in 1986. What caught my attention during the Venereal Diease briefing we were forced to listen to was the new GAY CANCER (AIDS) topic.
Until that moment, I did not know Cancer is a virus. Then I was left wondering; how does a virus know if someone is gay?
Needless to say, I was a sheltered, 20 something.
I just hope folks are willing to learn more to better fight this horrible virus.
