Good morning blogosphere......... if any of you have children and are thinking forward to their careers let me make a suggestion. Do not encourage them to be a doctor or lawyer, the real money is in auto repair........
I had my van at my local accessibility dealer to have the lift repaired this week. I needed two toggle switches replaced. the two switch's cost $15 however the labor was two hours at $90 per hour........ imagine my surprise.
Do not encourage your kids to go to graduate school or receive doctorates..... purchase them a socket set and a flashlight, put them on the road to financial security early........ $90 an hour damn.

Costs like those make me happy to have a brother in law who is a mechanic!! My parents were also lucky when I was younger, my father was a mechanic for Chrysler for years before he was laid off and that experience allowed him to fix our cars. Money was always tight, I can't imagine what it would have been like if we had to add car repair bills on top of it!!!
Hope your switches last a long long long time!
So true.
I am always telling my daughter that a good mechanic is worth his weight in gold. The trouble is finding a good one. And having the pound of flesh to pay them with.
I hope your switches last a very long time!
Too bad your old mechanic that kept your Mustang running isn't still around. She wouldn't have charged your $90/hr.
