My mom was discharged from the hospital this week and is now home. She is receiving visiting nurses along with aides, all through hospice care.
I went to see her yesterday late in the day.... Which was probably a mistake because she had visitors, and a shower that day. When I arrived she was sleeping, so I sat with her for a while and watched her. I talked with my dad, then made the trip back. A little disappointed that I couldn't speak with her more.
Last night the Pittsburgh Penguins played in the first round of the 2010 playoffs against the Ottawa Senators. The Pens started off fantastic, scoring the first goal. It quickly went downhill, with the Penguins losing 5 to 4........ the next game is Friday and I have a ticket!
My friend Sean Jordan, down at Bigfellas is a season ticket holder and somehow managed to get two tickets for Friday's game. He requested accessible seating so that he could take me along... How nice is that? Hopefully the Penguins can split the series here at home.
It's going to be a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh with the temperature in the 80s, I plan on spending some time with my dog on the deck reading my Kindle. I hope you enjoy this beautiful day as well.

Glad to hear that your mom is home. Hopefully next time you go over to the house she will be awake and you'll get to talk to her. Having a sick parent is never easy to deal with. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
As for the Penguins last night....ugh! Not sure what happened, but they didn't seem to have it together last night and even though they only lost by one, you could see the desperation in their game. Like you said, hopefully they can split the games at home before heading to Ottawa. Have a great time Friday night! I'm completely jealous!!!
