Back on the Horse
I promise not to whine in today's Post, thanks for all the comments yesterday. I had a mini meltdown but I'm back now....
After getting cleaned up yesterday I got back into my freshly sanitized and detailed wheelchair and went shooting at Falcon Archers. I had to qualify for a local hunting organization that manages suburban deer populations.
First of all the weather was perfect to be outside yesterday, not too hot even for me. My brother John and I got to the range early in order to shoot our crossbows a little before qualifying. The Parker crossbow that I use (Buck Buster) makes me smile every time I shoot it.
I was hitting the bull's-eye every time at 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards ! When it came time to qualify, I was not nervous at all because I have confidence in my equipment and abilities. It was an easy round to shoot and I did successfully qualify.
So after the meltdown yesterday, my day actually turned out very well. I will be able to hunt a few local properties in suburbia (easy access for my wheelchair) and I could not be happier! I'm looking forward to the upcoming season, meeting new guys who archery hunt and hopefully tagging a mature Buck and a few does.
