I think most people feel relatively invisible while attending sporting events, especially in a crowd of over 18,000 screaming fans. But I learned that was not the case Tuesday evening when attending the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Islanders hockey game this past Tuesday evening.
As a half season ticket holder I get to attend 20 games per season at the Consol Energy Center. I am not able to attend all 20 games, so I've given a few of the games away to friends and family.
Imagine my surprise when I rolled up to the gate and one of the ushers said " I didn't see you last week ". I never formally met this guy but he was aware I didn't make it to Saturday's game. I always said hello to him and thanked him for holding the door for me, but didn't realize he noticed me. Thanks George!
So I made it inside and got onto the elevator. The elevator attendant said your a season ticket holder right? " I didn't see you last week" . That's two employees at the Consol Energy Center to notice their customers.
Now I get to my seat and the usher says..... you guessed it.... " I didn't see you last week, is everything okay ? "
You have to love Pittsburgh, the people, the work ethic and how friendly the city actually is !
