On Thursday morning I was on my way to the library, it was a beautiful morning, the sun was shining and I was enjoying the roll there.
As I crossed the street approaching the library I was almost hit by a speeding Cadillac ... this car came around the corner from nowhere . It was actually pretty scary.
I always try to be extremely careful when navigating the streets . I realize how dangerous it can be in a power wheelchair . It's very similar to when I was operating a motorcycle, people have a hard time seeing a rider or wheelchair user.
When people wonder why we need curb cuts and well-maintained sidewalks , this is a perfect reason ! I often have to travel on the side of the road because of inadequate sidewalks, placing me at odd's with traffic .

Greg,
I'm so glad nothing happened! Perhaps you should have a word with your city officials regarding the curbs, lighting, signage, and traffic volume...Perhaps speed bumps would slow drivers down...just an idea.
