Today I am so proud to share that my article (and photos) on eating for one that originally appeared on Melissa Graham's blog, Little Locavores, was picked up by the Sun Times Food Section. Click HERE to read it in full.
A Walk on the Wild Side

I love arm chairs. LOVE them. Can't resist them at Goodwill and garage sales. I love a pair of arm chairs even more, but that's a rare find. I picked this one up a few months ago and hadn't been inspired....until this week. I found this fabric in the remnant bin...I don't typically love animal prints....but this is elegantly understated. The paint is Heirloom White by Rustoleum. Gosh I love Heirloom White!!
Take a look at the before photo:
Yikes! Outdated to say the least! I guess that's what $6.99 will get ya!
But here's what some spray paint, new fabric and a little elbow grease will get you!
What do you think?

My first blog post....go easy on a girl!

I mean, up until 6 months ago, I loathed the word blog. I really did. In my mind, blogs were for peeps who wanted to talk only about themselves and what they ate that day. Then I got bit by the home decorating bug. You know the one...the one that has you searching the internet day and night for DIY decorationg ideas? It was then that my mind was changed forever about blogging. I found SO much inspiration and information from the blog world, that I decided
to start my own. If I can inspire even one person the way I have been inspired, it will be worth it!
So stay tuned ...I have a garage full of blank pieces just waiting to be fabulous!

All The Single Ladies: Cooking For One

This is excerpted from a guest blog post I just wrote for Melissa Graham's Little Locavores blog. She is a passionate writer and real food activist and I hope you will click through and check out her site.
I'm a single gal and I work from home so, on average and with the exception of dining out, I have the luxury of preparing my own meals two or three times a day. Some of you may think I must be joking - luxury? But I'm dead serious. I do consider it a luxury to prepare my own meals. Why? Because I never have to question the quality of my food since I source it. I never have to compromise on what I feel like eating because it's me I'm satisfying. I also welcome the chance to break up a day spent inside my head in front of a computer, to get back into my body and work with my hands in an intuitive, tactile and sensual way.
