Ominous No More

The word ominous is what comes to mind when I see these two nightstands. I've known these nightstands for 36 of my 36 years. They are part of the bedroom set my parents got when they were married. Then they went up to my parent's cabin for 10 years. But recently, they sold their cabin, and along with it, they sold most of the furniture. But these nightstands didn't sell, so mom and dad brought them back for me to transform.







They are Lane brand and SO heavy...but dark and looming. I think the style is Mediterranean or Spanish? You furniture gurus can let me know ;)



This is how they ended up...and you all will be PROUD! I tried regular glaze! I almost always glaze with stain. I tried glazing with Behr glaze last fall, and I didn't like it at all. But this experience was much better! I'm still not sure I love the nightstands, but I think they look far more inviting now!
