I arrived Friday afternoon and by Saturday at 10 am, we were on a bus to Andersonville to go to the Brown Elephant...the most fabulous thrift shop in Chicago. While I haven't been to all of Chicago's thrift shops, this HAS to be one of the best. The furniture is amazing.
We've always searched for a headboard for my sister but haven't come up with anything until Saturday. She found this...and I said "no" because I don't love mission style furniture. But she had her way, and soon we were on our way back to her apartment to paint the bed.
But wait...we didn't have a car. This bed wasn't very heavy, but a full bed is awkward at best. I took the side rails and foot board, she had the headboard. Of course I chose to sit on the accordion part of this massive bus (I don't ride buses very often...obviously), so every time the bus turned, the pieces of the bed moved (because I rested them on the floor vertically) and I had a death grip on them. Halfway through the 40 minute bus ride, my right arm felt like falling off. And I was hangry (you know...you're so hungry that you're angry?). Not a good combo. Anyhoo...
This is the after. I absolutely LOVE the color...it's Foxfire by Royal (sold at Ace Hardware). And prior to this, the wall had screw holes all.over.the.place.
Have you painted anything in a bold color recently?
